I am going to need a photograph from you to paint the portrait from. You can either send the photograph by post or email it as a JPEG attachment. If you are sending the photograph by post and it is valuable to you, please have a copy made and send the copy.

As a portrait artist, I find that the quality of the original photography is important for the reproduction of fine details within the portrait. Please look at the Photographs page of this website for some guidelines on taking photographs.

You need to let me know the size of the portrait that you would like. Please go to the Sizes & Prices page of the website for more information.

I will let you know when I can start the portrait and this will depend upon whether or not there is a waiting list.

Portraits take from about four weeks to complete; about four weeks being for a 10" x 8" portrait without a background. The length of time that they take will depend on their size and whether they have a background.  Portraits with backgrounds will cost more and the cost will depend upon the complexity of the background.

Portraits are sold unframed with a temporary backing and mount around them and come protected by a plastic sleeve and a board on both sides.

Before I start the portrait, I would like 50% payment in advance by cheque or bank transfer in British Pounds Sterling; the balance to be paid upon completion.
